
The Global Compassion Circle is an interactive series of units that creates a circle of compassion and support between people around the world and immigrants, refugees, and the displaced—linked through compassion, understanding, and action. Participants can join at any time and go through the series at a self-guided pace.

Teachers

Jack Kornfield, PhD
Jack Kornfield, PhD, trained as a Buddhist monk in Thailand, Burma, and India and has taught worldwide since 1974. He is one of the key teachers to introduce Buddhist mindfulness practices to the West. He holds a PhD in clinical psychology and is the co-founder of the Insight Meditation Society and of Spirit Rock Center in Woodacre, California. For more, visit jackkornfield.com.

Trudy Goodman
Dr. Trudy Goodman is the founding teacher of InsightLA and cofounder of the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy. She has taught at universities and retreat centers worldwide for 25 years. Trudy has trained in mindfulness and Zen since 1973, holds a graduate degree in developmental psychology from Harvard, and is one of the senior Buddhist teachers in the U.S. Learn more about Trudy at TrudyGoodman.com.

Gabriel Stauring
iACT Founder Gabriel Stauring became involved in the situation in Darfur, Sudan, out of a sense of personal responsibility, and has made over 30 trips to refugee camps on the Chad-Darfur border, Cameroon, Tanzania, and the Central African Republic. He believes that the power of community and compassion, combined with personal empowerment, can bring about meaningful change.

Informative multi-media focused on the theme as it relates to Darfuri refugees.
A short mindfulness activity for Global Compassion Circle participants.
A conversation with other participants within the Circle about the theme and activity.
