BACKGROUND

Nearly one third of the Central African Republic’s population has been displaced by violence and humanitarian crisis. While many have fled across borders, 602,134 people remain internally displaced within the country. Additionally, there are more than 67,000 refugees who have crossed the border into CAR, seeking safety. In response, iACT worked in partnership with Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) to not only train local teachers in our Little Ripples pedagogy, but also to launch our Refugees United Soccer Academy (RUSA).

Today, our RUSA program has expanded to five locations, embedding itself in the local community and focusing on bringing more girls into the game.
