What challenges do you face in the camp in terms of food and healthcare?


Ahmed:

  • Food-related: Insufficient food distribution.

  • Health-related: Emergency patients are not referred to treatment; surgeries are not provided free of charge; we do not receive free medication; and public health services are not adequately provided.

  • Security-related: Thanks to God, we generally feel secure, but not consistently or everywhere.

What are the main challenges you face in the camp?


Ahmed:

Life in the camp is monotonous due to the lack of job opportunities and insufficient educational centers.


AMPLIFi Storyteller: 

How does your daily life look in the camp?


Ahmed:

It is a life filled with boredom, primarily due to the lack of employment and inadequate access to education.


AMPLIFi Storyteller:

Is there a difference between your children's life in Sudan and in the camp? If yes, what is the difference?


Ahmed:

Yes, there is a difference. In Sudan, access to education was sufficient, whereas in Chad, educational opportunities are limited.

Are there concerns in the camp, particularly regarding children?


Ahmed:

Yes, there are concerns, especially due to the lack of adequate education for children.

What is the general health status of your household members?


Ahmed:

One family member suffers from a chronic illness, and I myself am living with a disability.

What are your most urgent needs?


Ahmed

Access to adequate education, healthcare, and food.

What would you like your future to look like?


Ahmed:

I aspire to a better future—one filled with educational opportunities.

Ahmed:

I want them to have a future that includes education and success.

What can you tell me about the presence of humanitarian organizations in the camp?


Ahmed:

There are several organizations such as UNHCR, HIAS, JRS, and others, but unfortunately, none are fulfilling their roles adequately.

What are the key challenges refugees face in the camp?


Ahmed:

We face numerous challenges, including hunger and suffering.
