With Annual Fundraiser, LA-based NGO iACT Prioritizes Play for Children Affected by War and Conflict

LOS ANGELES, SEPTEMBER 30, 2023 - iACT, an LA-based international organization, will hold its annual fundraising event, impACT, on September 30, in Manhattan Beach, CA. Last year’s event brought in an amazing $132,000, an amount that supported nearly 16,000 children through iACT’s early childhood education program, Little Ripples, and the Refugees United Soccer Academy.

This year’s event will shine a light on the powerful effect creating a space for joy and play can have on children and families who have been forcibly displaced by war and violence.

“Creating safe and joyful spaces for every child to play is not only essential, it’s a human right. When we prioritize play in our global humanitarian response, we support an entire generation of children as they move from surviving to thriving.” - Sara-Christine Dallain, iACT Executive Director

Play is overlooked in the global humanitarian response, but it doesn’t have to be. We can make space for it. And that is exactly what iACT is doing through its community-led early childhood education and soccer programs.

“Play is very important because it helps [children] both physically and emotionally. It lowers their stress levels and brings wellbeing to their lives. Also, play brings fun and makes them forget about the situation they are going through.” - Abraham, Refugees United Soccer Academy Coach, Mexico

Thanks to our generous sponsors, 100% of donations given at impACT will go to support iACT's community-led soccer and early childhood education programs in Armenia, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, Mexico, and Tanzania.
