Equity Summit
“When the ball starts rolling, refugees are no longer refugees. They are not victims or survivors. They are players.”
iACT is determined to bring the transformative and joyful power of sports to every woman and girl affected by conflict.
iACT & Gender Equity
iACT is taking intentional action to challenge existing power structures and create opportunities for women and girls to stand in their own power.
50% of all iACT soccer coaches in the RUSA program are women.
34 female coaches across 6 countries have created the opportunity for thousands of girls impacted by war and conflict to play soccer for the first time.
iACT & Sports
Sports programming for children and youth affected by war and conflict is regularly under-prioritized, and in fact is often seen as unimportant.
The Refugees United Soccer Academy (RUSA) blends skills, drills, and team-building exercises with a coaching pedagogy designed to support the social and emotional wellbeing of girls and boys ages 6 to 13.
iACT employs 68 soccer coaches across 6 countries.
More than 12,000 girls and boys play soccer in RUSA every year.
iACT’s mission is to resource and partner with people affected by war and conflict, to amplify their voices and create opportunities for them to thrive.
