Dear friends,

In these times of uncertainty and concern around the world, the iACT family is with you. We continue to monitor the unfolding global pandemic of Coronavirus, and we are especially paying attention to how it might affect our refugee friends and their communities.

Like many, iACT is taking precautions. We’ve stopped all national and international travel for USA-based team members, and we are working from home. We have sent a letter reinforcing health and hygiene standards and recommendations for all iACT team members and programs globally. We will remain in constant contact with iACT refugee staff and friends and with our partners around the world to support preparedness.

We made the decision to postpone our upcoming fundraising events: the March 21st Tequila Tasting and our May 2nd annual event, impACT. At this time, we want all of the iACT community to focus on health, safety, and supporting each other as needed. In the coming days, weeks, and months, there will be a need for increased community support.

We are especially concerned about our refugee friends living in camps and sites with inadequate medical support. Since even before the pandemic, these communities have been living on the edge, lacking proper nutrition and health services.

That being said, we must continue to support our programs and staff. As we cancel fundraising opportunities, we would really appreciate the continued support from you and your community. Funds will directly support the salaries of the Little Ripples and Refugees United Soccer Academy staff, health and hygiene materials, and program materials. On several occasions, our refugee staff has told us that their salary is the only way they can afford medicine and food for their families. During these most uncertain times, we must continue to offer them their salaries.

We are grateful for your continued dedication to supporting refugees worldwide, and specifically for supporting iACT’s refugee-led programs.

Please reach out to us if you have any questions or need support.

Be well my friends,

Katie-Jay (iACT’s Executive Director)
