Double Your Impact: Support Refugee-led Programs this #GivingTuesday

Lately, I’ve been getting this question quite a bit: “What makes iACT different?”

I don’t have to pause or take a moment to think about this. I know the answer immediately. What makes iACT stand out among our peers is that our programs are refugee-led. Our solutions are identified by the community, we connect with global experts in the respective field, and we create the framework and trainings to launch the program, leaving it in the hands of our refugee employees.

Here at iACT, we believe that building capacity in the communities in which we work will break the cycle of violence endemic to refugee communities. From preschools to soccer pitches to the kitchens who prepare daily meals, our refugee camp-based employees take pride and ownership over every detail of our education, sports, and human rights programs.

November 28, 2017 is #GivingTuesday, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving when the nonprofit community asks you to invest in a better future for all our communities. This #GivingTuesday, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will match any funds donated to iACT (only on November 28) up to $50,000, and Facebook will wave all of its fees so 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to iACT.

We are asking our supporters—people like you—to host a fundraiser on your Facebook page in honor of one of our refugee camp-based employees:

Will you join us in raising funds to build capacity and a better future for refugees?
