I can hardly contain my joy and excitement about iACT’s plans for 2017. They are big and they are bold. They will challenge our refugee staff living in camps in Chad and Central African Republic to expand our successful education, human rights, and sports programs. They will challenge our U.S.- based staff to work smarter and more strategically. We will need to reach more communities to educate and inspire them to join the iACT movement as ambassadors, volunteers, supporters, and change agents. We will need to raise more funds in order to hire more refugee staff, educate more children, and offer more soccer academies. Together, we will continue to build a peaceful path forward that breaks the cycle of violence for individuals and communities affected by mass atrocities. Together, we will:
1. Open 7 more Refugees United Soccer Academies in eastern Chad to propel capacity to 24,000 refugee girls and boys ages 6-13.
2. Increase our refugee camp-based staff from 97 to 146, 76% of whom will be women.
3. Build Little Ripples in-home preschool centers in refugee camps Djabal, Kounoungo, and Mile in eastern Chad, expanding our impact by four times.
4. Begin plans for Little Ripples to serve refugees in Cameroon and South Sudan.
5. Visit San Francisco, Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C. for our iACT Brand Education Tour as a culminating event to our rebranding.
6. Launch the Little Ripples Global Citizens curriculum in 50 schools across the US
7. Host the World Unity Cup with the Darfur United Men’s Team in Ostersund, Sweden to secure the team’s path to the 2018 CONIFA World Football Cup.
8. Secure 12 new Refugees United Soccer Academy Sister Clubs.
9. Continue our Camp Darfur exhibits, presentations, and partnerships with schools, soccer clubs, and communities to reach 200 new people who will become ambassadors in humanitarian action.
That’s just a short list of what we have planned!
We are on a mission to provide humanitarian action to aid, empower, and extend hope to those affected by mass atrocities. Are you with us? Stand up, stand tall, and click on one of the following links:

PS: Save the Date: May 13, 2017 is our annual One Strong Kick event in El Segundo, CA. Because of your continued strong support from the community, we’ve outgrown our host family homes and will be at South Bay Customs, a private venue in El Segundo.
